Windherb is an extremely rare woodland plant found in the deepest forests of Cryptillia, particularly in areas of dense tree cover close to streams and rivers. It grows in small clusters amongst mosses and ferns, favouring damp soil and locations sheltered from direct sunlight. Its thin, pale green leaves are unusually sensitive to air movement and can often be seen trembling when other plants nearby remain still. Despite this distinctive characteristic, Windherb is difficult to identify amongst the surrounding vegetation, and its small size makes it easy to overlook.

The herb is an essential component of Vortex spells, used by wizards to create powerful, concentrated currents of swirling air. Only the leaves are required for spellcasting, although these must be harvested carefully as they bruise easily and rapidly lose their useful properties once damaged. Windherb is seldom found in sufficient quantities for regular harvesting, making it particularly valuable to those who rely upon air-based magic.
